A practical and comfortable stowaway sleep solution designed for guests, travel, and flexible living spaces. The Organic Cotton Boulder Stow offers firm, supportive comfort without the inconvenience of air mattresses or exposure to synthetic foams and chemical treatments. This space-saving floor mattress can be easily stored beneath a bed, rolled up in a closet, or transported for travel and camping.
Ideal for accommodating overnight guests, creating extra sleeping space in kids’ rooms or playrooms, and transforming open floor space into a comfortable place to rest, this stowaway bed delivers reliable comfort wherever it is needed.
Inspired by traditional Japanese shikibutons, the Boulder Stow is handmade without springs using clean, simple, and organic materials. Unlike conventional air mattresses or memory foam pads, it provides a chemical-free sleep surface made from natural fibers, offering a healthier and more eco-conscious alternative.
This versatile stowaway mattress can be bi-folded, tri-folded, or rolled up for storage (though it is not recommended for use with folding frames). It can be used directly on the floor or on other flat surfaces for short-term or extended sleep and may also be placed on top of an existing mattress to add firmness and comfort. Available in all standard mattress sizes as well as custom dimensions, it can be ordered with or without a storage cover. Optional covers include built-in straps for easy rolling and storage.
Handmade using 100% U.S.-grown organic cotton, the Boulder Stow is crafted with sustainable, high-quality materials. It is naturally flame retardant–free and wrapped in premium wool, which offers antimicrobial and dust mite–resistant properties without the need for chemical treatments. Wool’s natural insulation helps regulate temperature for year-round comfort.
Standard sizing begins at 30" x 75" with a 3" thickness. When rolled, the standard size measures approximately 30" high and 20" in diameter. While some individuals use this stowaway mattress for everyday sleep, a minimum thickness of 5" is recommended for long-term, daily use.
